Ports – Austria

Landlocked Austria relies on a network of river ports, mainly on the Danube River, to serve its transport and logistics needs. Here are some of the main ports in Austria:

  1. Port of Vienna – The largest port in Austria and one of the largest on the Danube. It includes several port terminals handling both containerised and bulk cargo. The Port of Vienna also serves as an important logistics and industrial centre.
  2. Port of Linz – This port is an important industrial and commercial centre specialising in the processing of steel and other metals. It provides important logistical links for industrial companies in the region.
  3. Port of Krems – Located in Lower Austria, this port is heavily used for handling construction materials, fertilisers, grain and other bulk cargo. Krems also handles containerised traffic.
  4. Port of Enns – This port serves industrial companies located in central Austria. It specialises in handling containers and bulk cargo such as grain, fertiliser and building materials.
