Ports – Grenada

Grenada, an island nation in the southeastern Caribbean Sea, has several key ports that play an important role in its economy, international trade and tourism. In this article, we will look at Grenada’s main ports, their location and functions.

  1. Port of St. George’s: The country’s main port, located in the capital city of St George’s on the west coast of the island. The Port of St. George’s serves both cargo and passenger vessels, including cruise ships. The port is an important hub for the export of agricultural commodities such as nutmeg, cocoa and bananas, as well as for the import of manufactured goods and equipment.   3. Port of Hillsborough: Located on the island of Cariacou, which is part of Grenada. The Port of Hillsborough handles both cargo and passenger vessels, transporting goods and passengers between the islands and supporting the economy of Kariakoo.
  4. Port of Petit Martinique: Located on the island of Petit Martinique, which is also part of Grenada. This small port serves local cargo and fishing vessels, supporting the local economy and providing a link to the main island of Grenada.
