Ports – Bahrain

Bahrain, a small island nation in the Persian Gulf, has several ports that play an important role in its economy, especially in the areas of commerce and industry. Here are the main ports of Bahrain:

  1. Port of Salman – This is Bahrain’s main commercial port located in the capital Manama. Port of Salman handles most of the country’s sea cargo, including containers, general cargo and liquid bulk cargo.
  2. Khalifa Bin Salman Port, KBSP – One of the most modern ports in the region, located near the city of Hidd. This port is designed to handle large volumes of containerised and bulk cargo and plays a key role in the country’s export and import operations.
  3. Sitra Wharf – Specialises in petroleum products and chemical cargo. This port has a number of berths designed to handle liquid cargo and is an important element of Bahrain’s petrochemical industry.
